GUNCRAZE RPG FEATURES

Deep and Rich Character Customization

GunCraze boasts deep and rich character customization. Classes can be narrow-minded, so there are no classes in GunCraze. Choosing a class in an RPG, like a healer, allows you to heal well, usually at the expense of something else, for the duration of the Campaign. If healing became boring, or if there were 3 other healers, you might want to make another character to enjoy the game. Also, many RPG systems only have one or two options for each class, and every person with that class shares many of the same abilities or weapon proficiencies as there are usually only few viable options.

After characters begin cycling in and out, a single roleplaying campaign degenerates into 3rd and 4th ‘alts,’ instead of the original party. We wanted to resist ‘Alt-itus’ with GunCraze.

In GunCraze, you can train your character to do so many things. You could be a master with pistols, or a professional with a light machine gun.  You could even forego guns altogether and become a melee master, annihilating targets using hand to hand combat forms with ease.

Skills are ripe for the picking, no matter what your profession. A gun-slinging doctor? A katana-wielding thief? You can actually choose up to two Jobs as well, enhancing your character's abilities even further! It’s all up to you. In GunCraze, you can transition from a gun-slinging doctor to a katana-wielding thief, and still maintain your original skills, just in case you need them.

Exciting, Action-Packed Combat

GunCraze puts the power in your hands, allowing you to chart the path to your character's success. Brace yourself for an exhilarating ruleset that breathes action into every moment. With shorter Character Turns and a wealth of options, GunCraze will transport you into the shoes of a true action hero, ready to defy danger at every turn.

Prepare for an immersive combat experience unlike any other. In GunCraze, characters not only roll Attack Rolls but also engage in thrilling opposed Defense Rolls, leveraging their Evasion, Parry, or Cover bonuses depending on the situation. Your character's survival hinges on your strategic decisions and the ability to adapt on the fly.

But be warned, GunCraze is a game of high stakes and lethal consequences. Characters must remain vigilant, employing protective measures and utilizing cover and concealment whenever possible. This is because GunCraze introduces Hit Locations, where attacks can have varying impacts depending on where they strike. A low Body Specialization score and lack of head protection could spell instant death from a fortunate shot with a Heavy Pistol. Conversely, a character with a high Body Specialization score and lack of head protection may endure two headshots from a Heavy Pistol, but a Sniper Rifle hit would be very deadly indeed!

But fear not, for GunCraze equips characters with a pool of Craze! Points, empowering them to become the action heroes they were meant to be. These points serve as a valuable resource, enabling daring maneuvers, incredible feats, and clutch moments that can turn the tides of battle.

3 Distinct GunCraze Settings

The GunCraze overarching storyline is divided into three eras, any of which a Gun Master can use to fuel their campaign.

The first is the Days of Reckoning. This storyline takes players through the end of the world as we will know it in 2050 after every computer on the planet is destroyed by the most powerful virus ever conceived. The Calamity, as it is called, causes the loss of nearly 9 billion lives. Days of Reckoning is an era of survival, scavenging, and resources. The campaign spans 3 years, and ends when the Corporations, NOT the Governments, restore a small semblance of life as it used to be.

The Rise of the Corporations is the next era of GunCraze, and deals with the re-emergence of Corporations. The year is 2053, and from the darkness of the post-Calamity world powerful people, who had spent the time working behind the scenes, emerge offering hope to those who had been stuggling to survive. Survivors flock to various Corporations, who promise to protect them and feed them in return for their loyalty. Rise of the Corporations has a very fuedalistic vibe. Corporations hire security forces to protect their growth - or to end a rival Corporations chance of coming to power at all. This is a time of rapid expansion, and players may be sent to reclaim lost technologies, or to steal them from rivals. As time goes by, several Corporations fall, their remnants and resources swept up by others. Decades pass, and the surviving Corporations are now seated within sprawling megacities with millions of residents working and living under their protection. These massive Corporations begin to broker deals with others, and soon these gargantuan groups become the Conglomerates - large country sized pacts of Corporations with a common Corporate rulership. That is when open war breaks out.

The Corporation Wars is the third era of GunCraze, and takes place roughly in the year 2080. There is open war between the Conglomerates vying for resources and land. Massive megacities turn their production towards supporting the war effort. Within the megacities, Corporations struggle with crime, treason, and sabotage. Robot armies have returned, and many people begin to receive cybernetic implants. There are several directions players can go at this point based on the Gun Master's campaign. Players may be tasked as Corporate Special Forces and sent in to destroy a rival Conglomerate's infrastructure, or they may be Corporate Police dealing with a flood of drugs and murders. Perhaps the players have come into knowledge that makes them a target for their own Conglomerate. The Gun Master will have several options in this regard, all exciting and action-packed!

To be clear...GunCraze is not limited to these eras or storylines. The rules inside the RPG Core Rulebook can be used for any setting. Wild west? 1920s Gangsters? Or perhaps the Gun Master wants to use a plot they read from a book, like Behind Blue Eyes, an excellent Cyberpunk book written by Anna Mocikat.
